This is generally the case; however, from year-to-year program requirements offered on either campus may be changed. Whenever possible, academic units will take the course offerings available at both campuses into account when regulations are developed or changed so that students wishing to transfer are accommodated. Students interested in switching campuses following their first year are advised to review the degree requirements for their program. If a student remains uncertain, they should contact the Academic Advising Centre at advice@mun.ca or (709) 737-8801 or the faculty or department offering the degree for detailed advice.
Can I transfer from another university or a college? If so, what do I need to do?
Students studying at other recognized universities or colleges are invited to apply for admission to Memorial University. Admission or readmission of students transferring to Memorial University from another university or college is subject to Memorial's regulations governing Continuance and Readmission. The Continuance and Readmission Regulations can be found in the University Calendar, under University Regulations, Section 4.10. An online version of the University Calendar is available at www.mun.ca/regoff/calendar/. In addition to this information, transfer applicants will find information regarding the requirements for completing an application and for admission of transfer students at www.mun.ca/regoff/admission/transfer.php.
What grades do I need to achieve at CONA to be accepted into Memorial?
Students who apply to transfer to Memorial University from a diploma program or the College Transfer Year at the College of the North Atlantic do not need specific grades in order to be eligible for general undergraduate admission at Memorial. However, as with all transfer applicants, students are required to be in good/clear standing (eligible to continue) at the end of their most recent semester at the College. Please see the FAQ question "Can I transfer from another university or a college? If so, what do I need to do?" for information regarding transfer applicants from other universities or colleges.
Can I start a particular program at CONA and then transfer to the MUN program?
Memorial University and the College of the North Atlantic have arrangements for advanced standing or block transfer for students seeking to transfer from certain college programs to specific Memorial University undergraduate degree programs. The programs involved, along with course-by-course transfer eligibility, are listed in the Newfoundland and Labrador Transfer Guide which is published by the Newfoundland and Labrador Council on Higher Education and is available online at www.edu.gov.nf.ca/council/.
