I've received an academic warning. What does this mean?
Continuance and Readmission Regulations will be applied at the end of each semester to any student who is registered for at least nine credit hours on the last day for adding courses in a semester or session. If you were registered for nine credit hours as of that date, you are subject to these regulations. At the end of each semester, to be eligible for continuance at the University, you are required to have either an overall average of 50 per cent in the courses for which you were registered on the last day for dropping courses without academic prejudice or obtained a cumulative average of at least 55 per cent in your entire undergraduate university career at Memorial. Students who, for the first time, fail to meet the continuance and readmission regulations will be given an academic warning. For further clarification, please contact the Academic Advising Centre at (709) 737-8801 or advice@mun.ca. The Continuance and Readmission Regulations can be found in the University Calendar, under University Regulations, Section 4.10. An online version of the University Calendar is available at www.mun.ca/regoff/calendar/.
I need to determine which courses I have left to complete my degree. What should I do?
The University Calendar is the ultimate authority on the courses required for the completion of your degree. Please refer to the Calendar at www.mun.ca/regoff/calendar/. The Academic Advising Centre (advice@mun.ca) and Faculty Advisors in your chosen faculty can help you with the interpretation of the calendar. In addition, a degree audit will help you determine which courses you have left to complete to meet graduation requirements. Once you have completed 20 or more courses you can apply for a degree audit by completing a Request for Degree Advice form and submitting it to the Registrar’s Office. This form is available at www.mun.ca/regoff/forms.php, under Other Forms select Request for Degree Advice. You can also pick up a form at the Registrar’s Office or the Academic Advising Centre.
